HE DRIVES THE ADVENTURE!
It sounds completely improbable, but if today I find myself directing a documentary series, it is largely thanks to this little Australian Shepherd! Little, yet weighing in at 25 kg all the same !
A dog like Elvis forces you to move, to go outside, walk, explore... No matter the weather, the time of day, or if you're tired, he is always ready to set off on an adventure !
For 6 years now, without me even realizing it, Elvis has changed my habits and pushed me towards a lifestyle even more focused on the outdoors.
The first year, with my sailboat, we crossed the Mediterranean to Genoa. Then came the kayaking, motorcycling, skiing, hiking, nights spent outside… Elvis followed me everywhere. He adapted to everything and became a true adventure companion.
Without him, I probably would have set off anyway. But I am almost certain I wouldn't have experienced things in the same way or at the same pace.
WAIT NO LONGER
Because having a dog is also a way of never being completely alone. We often spend so much time waiting for others to do things: for a friend to be available, for an opportunity to arise. And sometimes, by waiting too long, we end up doing nothing.
Elvis changed that. With him, I no longer need to worry about any of it. The two of us can just head out, simply because we feel like it.
That doesn't mean I prefer setting off alone. Quite the opposite. I deeply enjoy meeting people, spending time with friends, and connecting with those who cross our path. But knowing you can set off regardless opens up endless possibilities.
Which of the two of us hit the jackpot? It's a real question!
In any case, one thing is for sure: he's definitely not the unhappiest dog! 11 countries already visited, hundreds of spots inspected, thousands of hours spent roaming, sniffing, and running all over the place! A real dog's life!
Cuddle - "When I decide it's time, it's time!" 🫠
Training approved - "I know heaps of commands and I'm well behaved. But you're never truly safe from a little mischief..." 🙄
Playful - "I could spend my whole day playing with a stick or a ball, but my absolute favorite thing in the world is water!!!" 💦
I'm the King - "Too much charisma, simple as that..." 👑
Unstoppable - "6 years old and in peak condition! Always ready, even at 4 a.m.—if it's time to leave, I'm raring to go no matter what!" 💪
Me first - "Always in the lead! I take my role as a scout very seriously." 🥇
A bit stubborn - "I'll admit I sometimes do my own thing, but it's pretty rare though." 😁
On guard duty - "A suspicious noise? Someone approaching in the distance? A vulture flying too close? I'm on the job!" 🕵🏻♂️
Rough and tumble - "I'm not always delicate when playing, but I mean no harm. I enjoy the company of other dogs, but I prefer humans!" 🤪
Today, I’ve finally found a balance I might never have imagined: half of my life dedicated to music, and the other half turned outward toward travel and the wild.
So yes, officially, I’m the one taking Elvis along on my adventures. But if I’m being honest, I think he’s the one who brought me all the way here.
